What I Love About Dublin Review

What I Love About Dublin – Amanda Laneley

Heart rating – 4.5 out of 5!!

Sara finally follows her dream. To travel. Sara just wants a chance to live her life, a fresh start. She finds herself immersed in the lively, friendly city of Dublin in a house full of different personalities and nationalities. It really is everything she dreamed it would be… and more. Sara doesn’t even know what real love is anymore and has no desire to break her handsome housemate’s cardinal rule.

Daniel was born and bred in Ireland and loves his city but can’t wait to leave for Australia in a few months. A fresh start, a different country is just what he needs. What he doesn’t need is to fall in love. Especially when it is against the rule of the house: No romantic relationships between housemates. Cursing himself for enforcing the rule in the first place, he is entirely besotted with his enchanting ‘friend’, Sara.

What I love about Dublin is an amazingly beautiful story about two people destined to love each other who are destined to come up against more obstacles than they can count! The alternating point of view was so well written. I loved that the emotions were so well displayed to us as readers. We felt every ounce of confusion that Sara felt. Every pang of jealousy Daniel experienced. And every twinge of hurt for a love that just couldn’t catch a break.

This HEA will leave you with the warm fuzzies – and we all know how much I looove the warm fuzzies. The novel was not what I was expecting at all, and it was really refreshing to read something which addresses powerful emotions, rather than just powerful events. That’s not to say that there were no powerful events, but the focus for Daniel around trust issues were enormously accurate and it was amazing to read his journey through the ugliest emotion: jealousy.

Laneley is so talented in grasping and portraying feelings and emotions, and for me, that is what makes this novel so enchanting. I love the fact that this book reinforced that love really can sneak up on you and bite you on your rear when you least expect it!

This was such a sweet little story and it comes out on the 15th October so please grab yourselves a copy and cuddle up in bed with a lovely cup of tea and some chocolate and read Sara and Daniel’s journey.
