Lost and Found Review

Lost and Found – Elle Casey

Heart rating – 5 out of 5!!

James is a straight-laced plastic surgeon with the world on his shoulders. Money does not equal happiness. We meet James when he finally gives his leech of a girlfriend the kick to the curb she has had coming, he is so glad he had the chance before proposing to her with the $400K diamond he bought recently for her. When he allows his brother to toss the tainted treasure into the wishing fountain, he is sure his luck will change and he’ll never set eyes on the darned rock, that almost sealed an unimaginable fate, again.

Enter Leah. A good karma-fearing woman who never seems to catch a break. After a hilarious ordeal in the local wishing fountain, Leah swipes the shiny weapon that almost speared right through the bottom of her foot – it might hurt someone else! Once she discovers that the shiny spear is in fact, a whopping great engagement ring which has the value to make her financial burdens vanish into smithereens, Leah is faced with a moral dilemma. On the one hand, financial freedom! On the other… the karma implications simply aren’t worth the risk. Leah makes it her mission to hunt down the owner of this beautiful ring and finds more than she ever could have imagined.

This book was utterly hilarious. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that I was laughing so hard my other half came through to check I was okay because I was snorting so much.

Yeah. That hilarious.

To say Leah was a fun character is a vast understatement. She is totally her own free spirit with the kind of quirks that every-day people have. Elle Casey has managed to create two totally different people, and make one of the best love stories I’ve read. While this story was so funny that tea almost rocketed from my nasal passages – it was also a story that dealt with real, tragic issues. For me, Casey reinforced the point that: Life is far too precious, treasure it. When James and Leah each have their own family tragedies to combat, it was just such a beautiful thing for them to find each other through their hilarious encounters.

You know I hate posting spoilers but seriously, Leah is so haphazard in the first chapter I was so excited about the rest of the book. Please read it. If you do one thing this week, download and read Lost and Found. I promise you won’t regret it.
